ok, I know how a 205 twin stick functions and all. I have a theory but I want someone to go through it and see if they see any problems with it before I order parts.

Ok, I am going to run a PROFAB in my current build. BUT I also need a PTO output for a hydro pump to power either a wrecker bed or hydraulic winch.

Now my theory is this, put the divorced 205 between the tranny and PROFAB. It will be twinsticked (cables) so I will have control of "front" or "rear" out puts of the 205. Run the rear output on the 205 to the input on the PROFAB. Then I could have "high" in the 205 and about a 3:1 gearing in the profab OR drop the rear ouput into low and drop that gearing down even more for whatever the reason may be... BUT I could then drop the "rear" output of the 205 into neutral, use the "front" control to power the pto pump... Front wouldnt really matter if I used high or low I dont think seeing how I have a 5 speed tranny and could select how fast It needed to turn to power the pump.

Does ANYONE see any problems with this in ANY way? Also, I can get a chevy 205, since I am using the cable system for shifting, I assume it wouldnt matter which side the output was on...

And before the "is there room" question comes up, I have measured and measured twice, there is room and plenty of it. the profab will be mounted dead middle of the truck, and the 205 will go between it and the tranny... OPINIONS PLEASE???

ANY INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

if this is the truck with the 5 speed does it have a pto cover on it if so i would use that instead of having both those cases , this must be a 4 door truck becouse i got my profab dead center of my extra cab long bed and there is not near enough room for a divorced 205 to put in mine

its a ford ext cab long bed brian. I was amazed at the length from back of tranny to center as well... but according to the good ol tape measure it will fit just right.  from the back of the tranny to the middle of the truck is right under 2ft...

It does have a pto cover on the tranny, and that is another possiblity. I just figured I could achieve two things with a little more work rather than just a pump.

I was just guessing 3:1 to keep it close to a factory 4low. But I see what you are saying with the 1.5:1. Which, then I could just use the low in the 205 to drop that down more if needed.

In an ideal world I would have a married 205 but it is a 2wd tranny, can get a divorced 205, and there is room... guess Ill just solid mount both cases so they dont move in the least bit...  anyone else have any thoughts?
