Line Locks
«

I traded my project truck for Jonas's brothers ol purple toyota today. The line locks are giving me some trouble and have me majorely confused. Does anyone know a website for a good diagram of how the line locks hook up? Thanks.

if it's a manual line lock then it's just a push valve run in line with the brake line that when you hold the brake and push the button it holds the pressure on the line but keeps the brake pedal undone to keep from the brake lights being on. It's just a valve inline on a brake line. SHould be installing one in mine soon.
If it's a electric one then it's a electric valve that will eventually run down the battery if left on for a good period of time.
Edit: There is no set diamgram for them it's just the way the installer installed the line lock is how it's in there.

Great. The brakes are real mushy feeling but still work good. Its like they are real long winded so to speak. Ill look more at the locks tomorrow after I get it inspected. They have wires running from them to a switch in the cab.

They are electric so don't leave them on for long periods of time. They will run down the battery. Maybe they run off a relay and it's bad i don't know. Most trucks that are lifted and have extended brake lines are like that. I am having to put a 1 ton booster on the white truck because of the same problem.

Line locks are working now. Someone who had it between when Josh built it, And I acquired it installed the locks. Then I guess some one else decided they were an electrician and the locks didnt need power going to them, so they tied the power wire into a ground...
