52" Front spring swap
«

Has anyone tried the 52" front springs under the 73 - 87 GM fullsized trucks? I have done alot of research and my mind is made up, just wanted to know if there was any other advise before the surgery starts. If you are not aware of this, the stock rear 52" or 56" springs placed up front yeilds about 4-5" of lift, alot better ride quality, and lots of travel over the standard lift spring packs. The wheelbase is stretched about 2" and must run crossover steering, long travel shocks, long brake lines , etc, etc. It is a simple swap, just lots of minor details along with it.

i did this on my 78 , i cut out the stock rivits for the front spring hangers and moved them to the other holes and bolted them back on the frame then made me some rear shackles that were 2 inches longer than the stock ones to allow for the extra spring movement , it moved my axle about 1 inch foward , ride was much better and it flexed alot more

was thinking about using 3/4 ton springs without the overload, with a small block. Did u use 1/2 tons?

Finally tested the blazer this weekend. One of the best mods for a trail vehicle I have seen. Yes there is alot to it, but it rides 10 times better than regular lift springs and flexes great.
